I am very much interested in conducting research on HRM practices in the middle east, more specifically in lebanon. I have conducted several studies earlier, and all results show that HRM is still focusing on administrative issues and employee championship. the year 2005 seems to be a critical since most companies realized (in 2005) the need to have more strategic HRM departments. however the current organizational culture (and to some extent national culture) doesn't allow such professionalism in the HRM practices. where do we go from here? what should be done?
