It has always been my contention that HR people were the worst networkers. Have you seen an increase in HR networking now that the internet makes it simple and you don't even have to leave your office!

In my experience, there is less understanding of web 2.0 social networking opportunities in HR than in other fields, so I think generally, no.

I think the main worry following from this is that web 2.0 implementation is being driven by IT, often with support from Internal Communication, and not by HR. And so, firms are missing a lot of the main benefits that could be provided by ths technology, for example connecting and building relationships between employees.
