Doug Counsell Comment by Doug Counsell on June 5, 2008 at 6:08am
I'm Doug Counsell and I teach Career Management, International OB and International HRM at University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), Preston, UK. Many of my students (undergrads and postgrads) are Chinese and my current research interest is focused upon these students. Among other things, I'm interested in exploring: the factors that shape their career decisions; how optimistic (and why) they are about their future careers; why they have chosen the UK for their studies; whether (and why) they might feel inclined to live and work abroad (outside of China) in the future; if they were to live/work abroad, which countries (and why) would they prefer/choose.

I'd welcome comments/ideas/discusion with other groups members relating to my current reasearch area.
Yuan Jiang Comment by Yuan Jiang on June 2, 2008 at 3:35pm
Hi Wei and other members,
This is Yuan Jiang. I'm coming to my fifth-year in the HR program at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Very nice to meet people with common interest in HRM in China. Recently I had a trip in China and collected some data for my dissertation, which is focused on HR and leadership for collaborative teamwork. China presents a very interesting and culturally specific way regarding its HRM, based on my experience. So hope to learn more about that from here!
