Executive Editor of 'HRM, the journal', Associate Professor at Bocconi University (Italy), External Research Fellow at Max Planck Institute of Economics Center for Entrepreneurial Growth (Germany).

Early experiences in the UK banking sector, BA in UK, then PhD in US (Georgia State University). Following 3 years at Utah State University I moved to Europe, and am currently living just outside of Milan with my wife Heather and dog, Jack.

I am active in the AOM with both the HR Division and Entrepreneurship Division, and I am also an international affiliate member of the American Psychological Association. See more info at my website (below)

Can we bridge between worlds...

HRM is building its reputation as a bridging journal. Spanning the chasm between research and practice. I think all of us on the editorial team and probably throughout academia recognize the challenges of trying to speak to both worlds.

Can we really satisfy our academic colleagues and employers with respect to rigor while speaking to those who are working on the front line?
