Cash for LMS clunkers - Why are corporations dumping their legacy learning management systems and where are they going…

In the current edition of Chief Learning Officer magazine, Josh Bersin, the well respected founder of Bersin & Associates indicates that of those large corporations that have learning management systems (LMSs), almost one in three will be dumping their legacy LMS like a 1971 Chevy Vega, without any incentives from the U.S. government.

This is a very interesting post .. I was just writing my editors note on a related topic, and it provided some inspiration. However, technology alone is not enough. How do we assure that the interaction needed for successful learning is in place with technology solutions? I've been running a project I call the leadership pulse since 2003, where I engage leaders around the world in short surveys then use the results for learning. The first part -doing surveys - relatively easy, the second part - engaging them in learning .. still a challenge I find. But in the spirit of continuous learning and innovation I just keep on pushing ahead. Thanks again.
